Lance Armstrong dropped to 8th today after a major crash. that sucked. others in the crash were Oscar Freire (World Champion) and Laurent Jalabert from CSC-Tiscali. They were a good 3+ minutes behine the leaders, and the peloton was only about 45 seconds behind the leaders. Austrailia took the stage. I hope Lance can win, but so far he's not looking good. I think Eric Zabel may take it this year.
that's it, i'm outtie. gonna work on carol's site and cool off. carol's out with her friend tonight so here i sit and blog... sheesh... just got done putting carol's first album out on eBay. you can bid on it here ran out of space on my website so i'm gonna have to find somewhere else to dump images... hmm actually i have plenty of space here and here and here. so ha! i'm set for a while yet. then of course i've got my servers at work, but dont need them... mom bought me this cool knife set but i won't get it until august 15-sept 1 (so says amazon.com). but that's ok, i'll wait. cool story - i found the knives and went to amazon checkout. at the bottom it said that if i had a promotional code to enter it in the box... so... i opened another browser window and google'd over to "amazon coupon codes"; lo and behold, a code! so i went back to the checkout page and put in the code and ended up getting 5 bucks off... woohoo! the page looks like a good one to bookmark. here it is the code is CHNKBKAMZNLT and is good for $5.00 off $35 or more (although my total was only 29.99, it still worked). ![]() what adjective are you? quiz by maikamariel ? 9:40 PM thursday, july 11 short workdaywell as you can see from the comments below my mom is now (or has been?) reading my blog. i guess i'd better clean it up a little, huh? (not) - love ya mom! will you buy me a new bike? not much else going on here today... pretty slow again. missed the Tour on audio so i guess carol will have to sit through two hours of biking tonight on OLN. i'd like to get a little riding in tonight but we'll see how it goes. i think carol was going to run somewhere with kim, which is fine by me. 7-Eleven is giving away free slurpees today. why? uhh.. because it's 7-11 apparently they finally rescued some guy's Amphicar (see picture above) in Philadlphia. He decided to take a little ride out in a river and got it stuck... well read the article, sheesh. OMG another BB gun incident, this time with Boy Scout leaders. real smart, guys. some reporter was assigned to write a story about a fire at a local insane asylum, and he used the headline "Roasted Nuts" - which i think is hilarious, but he got in big trouble by the PC police. teen strangles sister over TV remote - warning this is a bit graphic and also very sad. lady, 96, dies and has no one to leave her 2.6 million dollar estate to. so she left it to the Salvation Army. i think that was a good choice. girl, 9, chokes and dies on a piece of bubble gum. the last sentence sums it up. well i'm at home tonight, alone and bored... boo hoo hoo... so what do i do, i blog. how pathetic :) after work i went to the PO to mail off the crazy shoes that i sold for carol. then i got the boys, dropped carol off at a friends, and went to wal mart (well, ok, i forgot my pager so i went back home then i went to wal mart, didnt have my wallet so i went back home and got my wallet and the checkbook, then i went to wal mart) and picked up a HUGE bottle of Tide (which is on sale for only 10.44 as to regular 12.76 woohoo) and i also bought a book called Whispers by Dean Koontz. it's selling on amazon.com for 7.99, i got it at wal mart (shipping free, mind you) for 5.76 (yesssss). so anyway then the boys and i went to the laundromat and that's where i spent the next 3 hours of my life. in case you don't read the left-side of my blog, i hate folding clothes!! but alas i did it anyway. the trick with laundromats is the timing. you can't have all the clothes clean at the same time. there has to be a stagger of say, 7 minutes. that way one washer stops, you have time to dump it to a dryer and start the dryer, then about 6 minutes or so to wait for the next load to be done. the 6 minutes really comes into play when you are drying, because, you see, if a dryer stops, and the clothes just sits there, it wrinkles, and that's points off for will when he gets home. so the 7 minute stagger works well. in 7 minutes i can have at least half of the previous load folded. by time im done folding, the next dryer has only been sitting idle for about 3-4 minutes. bonus. time enough to start folding it. now the other difficult part is when you have a half-dry half-not-dry load. what i do it wait for 2 half-not dry loads to finish and i consolidate and pull out the dry stuff. this not only works well, but it saves me a whole shiny quarter by doing so, thankyouverymuch. and by then, you've kinda got figured out which dryers are the good ones and which ones suck, so you of course use the good one... i had about 12 loads (4 kids, ya know) and i had to spread them between only 5 dryers, so a little folding here, a little consolidating here and i'm hooked up. wasnt that just fun... so anyway i got like a page and a half of the book done and already this guy wants to rape some girl and then chop her up... we'll see how far i get before i hand it over to carol. she likes those Hannibal type stories. the last book i read was Timeline by Michael Crichton, which i highly recommend. it has a nice mix of technology and time travel. a good read. i heard they were making a movie out of it but never saw anything to the sort... well thats enough. got some wings a'cookin in the oven, they should be done in about an hour. then i'll start cooking the hot sauce and mix it all up. all i need now is a Captain Morgan smoothie and i'll be set for the night. only 22 minutes til Whose Line woo hoo! almost died yesterday. rode the bike home, left work at 1:15. the temp was a cool 96 degrees. i think the heat index was around 110. no big deal, right? after all, i'm only 30, i'm still young and invincible. well, 45 minutes later, and only about 4 miles from work i paged carol to please come get me i'm dying haha... she was still pretty far away and i managed to get another 4 miles or so before she found me. i was close to passing out, my body was numb, it took me a good hour or more before i was settled down enough to even talk. i guess i won't be doing that again any time soon. c'mon cold front! (i mean, like a 75 degree cold front. none of this cold 50 degree crap). had a good time with carol last night. we got to run to a Dr. appt. then went to the mall and had a pretzel. i had a cinnamon-sugar one and she had a regular one. t'was good. i still wasn't feeling all that great so i just kinda laid on the bed and she was downloading songs, etc. (but not Eminem - see below). we surfed video channels watching videos and also watched Who's Line is it Anyway? which is one of my two favorite tv shows. we laughed and laughed. Ryan Stiles is just hilarious. i guess kev is off today, or busy, or out apartment hunting. janet reno is planning a dance party - no really, she is. apparently rapper Eminem doesn't like file sharers. he's got quite a great vocabulary, that guy.
OMG - Chicago lady still nurses her 8 year old boy. a snippet from the article: well i didn't take the other wheel off the truck, maybe tonight. i rode my bike to work today, after watching the TOUR i guess i've been inspired. i got the bike out and washed it off yesterday afternoon. yeah, that's right, a bike wash. rode it in this morning in about an hour. 12 miles. i've done faster times but its hot and i didn't want to be sweaty for the old day at work. got here at 5:15, gonna do 9 hours, be outta here at 2:15 this afternoon. riding home in 9x degrees, better take 2 waters. glad that my brother is back speaking of back, my back is hurting today. wish i had some more percocet. ugh. not much else happening. couldn't sleep last night, hence the early rise. i lied awake from about 3:30 until i got up at 4:00. i see my KMart stock is now at 81 cents a share. that's real encouraging... Joel out, Hasselhoff in Giambi won the home-run derby. i watched it, it was kinda boring. why can't this happen to me? eBay buys out paypal for 1.5B. that sucks big time. in the past eBay has tried to force people to use their checkout option, which also sucked. many eBay sellers (including myself) ask in the auction that the buyer use paypal or money order instead of eBay's checkout procedures. so, i guess we will see what happens. paypal also offers free shopping cart software, etc which i have been using on carol's site. hopefully all goes well but chances are it will not. 1. Have you had to repair anything lately? Did you do it yourself or have someone else do it? 2. Do you work out or exercise? Or is there anything you do each day for your health? 3. Are you a modest person? That is, would you be embarrassed for someone (an acquaintance, a friend, a stranger) to see you nude?i consider myself modest. i wouldn't want anyone to see me naked but if they did it wouldn't be a big deal, i mean, actually it's too late by then anyway. once they stop laughing i could explain the whole 'shrinkage' thing... i don't mind going outside in my underwear if i'm just getting something out of the truck... let me clarify... i mean if i have my boxer/briefs on. they look like shorts anyway. now if i had my 'tighty whiteys' on, no way i'd do it. well maybe for a thousand bucks. any takers? 4. What are some odors that you just can not stand to smell? 5. Are there any social situations that make you uncomfortable? 6. Has a friend or an employer ever asked you to do something you felt was unethical or? What was it and what happened? woke up this morning and couldn't fit in some of my pants, carol said it's back to the trails on Thursday and Sunday, then i come to work and feel really guilty after reading this blog today... my bike has been terribly neglected and is probably in need for some serious lovin... i miss the singletrack over at Grants Trail. i haven't been since last year. was supposed to go riding with Mark yesterday but went to Captain D's instead... so i gorged down some all-you-can-eat instead of riding. real smart, will. image courtesy of trekbikes.com is a 2002 Trek 820. same bike i have, but i have a 2000 model. all black. i love it. since i no longer have my lowrider, this is the closest thing to coveting i probably own. i love the durango, but i think i like my bike better. john traded in his car and got him a new intrepid. paid cash. must be nice huh. bought some stuff at the thrift store on saturday, some clothes for the kids, and some postcards and a vintage photograph to sell on eBay. also got a Motorola cable box which works great, well, it did until last night. not sure if it got hot or the kids pushed a button or what. so i rerouted the cable through the VCR and they had tv again. quick fix but need to get the cable box working. if it doesn't work again or craps out, i'll stick it out on eBay too. it's probably worth an easy $40 or so even if it overheats. the truck is gone, and i got my money. i guess that's closure. i'm thinking about a refresher in French, and having carol come along. it would be a blast to talk to each other and the kids wouldn't have a clue muhahahahhaha a redneck car alarm
ted williams died late last week. apparently there's a family feud going on with his body. his son wants to freeze him in case they want to bring the guy back to life or something. his daughter wants to creamate him and have the memorial service, etc. which makes more sense to me... Mom accused of firing BB gun at young son holy $h!t some guy shot his girlfriend and then left her sit in a garage for 6 days... and she's still alive. i showed the kids lightning bugs, or fireflies, and they are frantic now about them. only problem is they want to catch other bugs, like wasps, etc. so we gotta watch them... |
